About Album

The Guaraní word “pynandi”, is divided in two terms: py, that stands for “foot”; and nandi, which stands for “naked or nothing”. So, altogether the word means “a foot with nothing” or barefoot.
This expression is not necessarily connected to marginality or poverty, it simply makes reference to the bare feet of the people who live and work in the rural areas; the feet of an infancy lived under the heat, where people spend most of the time without shoes on.

Throughout the 15 tunes in this work, Chango displays new music, which was developed along the last years touring around Europe and the USA; a show made at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City which recieved the warmest reviews from the critics was the prelude to “PYNANDI”-«Los Descalzos”, produced by the prestigious American composer Bob Telson (Bagdad Cafe), recorded in Argentina and edited in Europe and the USA by World Village, and in Argentina by Sony Music.

All the greatness found and achieved in “Tarefero de mis Pagos”, is further expanded and powered here. Composer of: SUITE DEL NORDESTE , EL CAMINO, TRISTEZA ,INFANCIA , PANAMBI .

Side manned by a set of formidable musicians: Sebastián Villalba (guitar and vocals), Marcos Villalba (percussion and guitar), Víctor Renaudeau (violín), Heleen De Jong (cello), Juan Pablo Navarro (Bass), Alejandro Oliva (percussion) and the very young guitarist from Chaco Marcelo Dellamea (special guest). Also present in the record are: Tilo Escobar (buttons accordion in LA RATONERA of Ernesto Montiel), Héstor Chávez ( writer of Tarefero de mis pagos, here sings in VIEJO CABALLO ALAZAN ) and Pablo López ( who plays a 1791baroque violin in MEJILLAS COLORADAS).
